Rousseau files civil suit against fellow council rep

A District 6 representative on the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribal Council has filed a civil suit against a fellow council member requesting injunctive relief over the use, or lack thereof, of Indian Preference in hiring decisions being made at the Tiospaye Topa School at LaPlant.

Rollover accident

A one-vehicle accident occurred just before 4 o’clock Monday afternoon, February 22, on Airport Road south of Timber Lake. The driver, a juvenile, was not seriously injured. CRST Law Enforcement is investigating the accident.

Community Art Show

Plans are underway for a community art show to be held at the Timber Lake Museum March 19-26. Katarina Boysen, a senior at Timber Lake High School, is organizing the show as a senior Capstone project. There will be no entry fees or prizes. More details will be announced next week.

CRST moves to Level 2 of COVID response, but for how long?
Change To Checkpoint Policy Announced
With the number of new and active COVID-19 cases falling, the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe moved to Level 2 of its COVID Response Plan last week, loosening some restrictions put in place in response to the global pandemic.
Tribal Chairman Harold Frazier announced the change on Thursday, Feb.
