With the recent Arctic blast, we have had it was only fitting to talk about elements that keep the arctic mammals warm. We did an experiment to see how blubber works. The students put one hand in a zip lock bag that was in a larger zip lock bag of ice.

Timber Lake performers earn Superiors at Region Contest

This year’s Region 6 small group music contest was held virtually by recording the performances and uploading them and the music score to be judged. Here are the Timber Lake School performers, their pieces and ratings received. For choir TLS had five entries.

The Dupree Booster Club held a cake raffle, and about 30 cakes were donated, to gather funds to assist Cindy (Barnica) and Bret Pederson with medical expenses incurred from recent serious issues that both Cindy and Bret have been dealing with.

Faith athletes sign D-II national letters of intent

A pair of Faith High School seniors have signed national letters of intent to participate in athletics at Division II colleges in the fall. Joel Gifford will continue his football career with the South Dakota School of Mines in Rapid City, joining the Hardrocker defense as a linebacker.

Dupree School names Elementary Students of the Month

Kru Stern is the January VIP for PreK. His parents are Jenni Fisher and Nathan Stern. Kru’s teacher is Ms. Tomac. He is a very well-behaved, super sweet, and just an all-around great student, with a heart of gold. His favorite color is green.

Schott’s success in Texas continues McLaughlin bull rider Chance Schott earned some traveling money at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo over the weekend and also put himself in a position for even bigger payout as his success in the lone star state continues. The event is being held Feb.
