Two new directors were elected at the annual meeting of the Timber Lake Rodeo Association on Dec. 9. Rusty Gebhardt and Patrick Maher are replacing Troy Long and Robi Miller. Officers are Richard Gross, president; Jace Booth, vice-president; Rusty Gebhardt, secretary; and Ben Bieber, treasurer.

Sophomores Shay Kraft and Carlie Lawrence combined for 39 points last Friday to boost the Timber Lake Lady Panthers past Lemmon 62-45 in the girls basketball season opener for both teams. Timber Lake hosted Herreid-Selby on Tuesday and will welcome Harding County Thursday, Dec. 17.

2020 Rotary Basketball Classic is this Saturday in Mobridge

Both the boys’ and girls’ teams from Timber Lake and McIntosh will square off against opponents from just over the state line on Saturday, Dec. 19, when they compete against North Dakota schools in the 2020 Rotary Basketball Classic at Mobridge-Pollock High School.

The Christmas spirit

It seems as though everyone is in the Christmas spirit this year. 2020 has been challenging, and I think people are craving the warm feeling that Christmas brings. This time of year invites people to reflect on the real reason for the season.
