At its October 6 regular meeting, the Timber Lake City Board accepted the resignation of custodian Rhonda Takes The Knife but took no action on filling the position. The board heard a report from the new maintenance manager, Jerimiah Garon, about a used road grader being considered for purchase.

School stays with distance learning for second week

Timber Lake School continued distance learning for the school week beginning Monday, Oct. 12. Positive cases and exposure to COVID-19 kept the school closed to students in-person for the second week. Middle School extracurricular activities for the week were cancelled or postponed.

TL spikers rally to down McIntosh girls

The Timber Lake Lady Panthers dropped the first game of their match with Mcintosh in Little Moreau Conference volleyball action last Thursday, but bounced back to sweep the next three and claim a victory over the winless Lady Tigers. The win lifts Timber Lake to 6-8 in regular season play.

The funeral service for Margaret Mae Laurenz, 82, of Eagle Butte will be 2:00 p.m. MT on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at the Faith Community Center in Faith. Interment will be in the Eagle Butte Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.

CRST suspends plan to reinstate permits

Just a week after announcing the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe (CRST) was reinstating its travel permit program as part of its on-going battle against the coronavirus, Tribal Chairman Harold Frazier says those plans have now been suspended until further notice.
