Eagle Butte bull rider tames Canadian beasts

Eagle Butte bull rider Cole Brewer won the long-go, the short-go, and the average at the Tsuut’ina Nation Rodeo in Alberta, Canada last Friday through Sunday, July 25-27.Brewer put up an 80 point effort in the long-go and scored 71 to win the short-go, putting him on top the average with 151 points.

CRYP, foundation partners offering free vision care for up to 900 people

The Cheyenne River Youth Project (CRYP) and the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation will offer a free five-day Vision Clinic on Monday through Friday, Aug. 4-8 at CRYP’s campus in Eagle Butte.

Biegler Equipment is now Schott Sales, LLC

Biegler Equipment, a mainstay on Timber Lake’s Main Street since 1987, will become Schott Sales, LLC effective this week.Bart and Marlene Biegler are selling the NAPA/United Hardware business to Max and Pam Schott of Mobridge.

CRST announces $1.9 million upgrade at Eagle Butte LTM

By Jon FlatlandThe Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe (CRST) announced last week that its economic development branch, CREDCO, has been authorized to begin a $1.9 million upgrade of its flagship grocery store Lakota Thrifty Mart (LTM) in Eagle Butte.

Kraft reelected to chair Timber Lake School Board

The Timber Lake School Board reorganized at its annual meeting on July 16, re-electing Jake Kraft as chairman. Kraft and Bryce Lindskov, who won three-year terms in the June 3 school election, took the oath of office.
