Locals chosen to Lakota All-Star BB game rosters

Rosters for the annual Lakota All-Star basketball games were announced Monday, Feb. 21, comprised of 50 boys and girls high school student-athletes from South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming, Iowa, Kansas, Texas and Louisiana.

TL GIRLS HAVE #2 SEED

The Timber Lake Lady Panthers closed out their regular season schedule with wins over Tiospaye Topa and Cheyenne-Eagle Butte last week and will carry a 12-8 record into the Region 8B Tournament as the No. 2 seed. Monday’s play-in games featuring Takini vs. Tiospaye Topa and McIntosh vs.

Timber Lake boys close regular season Friday

The Timber Lake Panthers will head into their regular season finale on Friday, Feb. 25, with a 16-2 overall record after knocking off two Little Moreau Conference opponents before suffering just their second loss of the year over the weekend to Warner.

SD High School Rodeo Schedule finalized

The South Dakota High School Rodeo Association’s 2022 schedule kicks off April 29 and will wrap up June 14-18 with the State Finals Rodeo at the Stanley County Fairgrounds in Fort Pierre. The National High School Finals Rodeo is set July 17-23 in Gillette, WY.

Dupree boys top McIntosh

Down 12 points after one quarter, the Dupree Tigers outscored McIntosh 26-6 in the second frame and managed to fend off a late rally for a 77-72 victory in Little Moreau Conference boys basketball action last Tuesday, Feb. 15.

TL girls wrap up regular season this Friday

With the post-season looming, the Timber Lake Lady Panthers split four games over the past week in a sprint to the end of the regular season schedule, which they close out Friday, Feb. 18, by hosting Cheyenne-Eagle Butte.

McIntosh boys stumble to 5-9 overall

The McIntosh Tigers boys basketball team was back at full strength last week for the first time in nearly a month, but could not shake off enough rust to pick up a win in three outings.
