Junior Thane Keller claimed the 160-pound title at the Red Cloud Wrestling Invitational in Pine Ridge on Saturday, Jan. 26, helping the McLaughlin/Timber Lake Mustangs to a fifth place finish in the 12-team event.

Faith upends Dupree for tourney crown

The top-seeded Faith Longhorns went on a 32-16 scoring run in the second half to cruise past the Dupree Lady Tigers 55-35 on Saturday and capture the 2022 Little Moreau Conference Girls Basketball Tournament championship.

PRCA competitors Cole Elshere of Faith and Taygen Schuelke of Newell finished second and third in saddle bronc riding at the Cinch World’s Toughest Rodeo Jan. 21-22 in Sioux City, IA. Elshere rode a bronc named “Custom Craft” to a score of 83 and second place honors, good for a $2,329 check.
