Panthers blank Stanley County in season opener

Moments after Sawyer Holzer laid a big hit on a Stanley County running back to drop him for a loss on third-andshort, the senior defensive tackle was on the Timber Lake sideline exchanging high fives with his teammates and celebrating a six point lead.

Timber Lake to join McLaughlin in new wrestling cooperative

Timber Lake High School has entered into an agreement with McLaughlin to form a new wrestling cooperative beginning with the 2021- 22 season this winter. Under the agreement, Timber Lake students in grades 7-12 are eligible to participate under the McLaughlin Mustangs name.

Panthers receive votes in first football poll of the season

With a majority of last season’s squad returning for the 2021 campaign, the Timber Lake Panthers garnered three votes in the pre-season South Dakota Prep Football Media Poll this week. Platte-Geddes tops the Class 9AA ranks, receiving 11 first place votes, followed by Canistota-Freeman with five.

Volleyball: Talented TLHS spikers eye return to SD16

Although the Lady Panther volleyball team has had only a handful of pre-season practice sessions, expectations for the 2021 season are already high as Coach Megan Bickel welcomes back a host of players who were key to Timber Lake’s success last year.
