Isabel ropers claim fifth at state HS rodeo finals

Sage Burress and Rope Roghair, both of Isabel, captured fifth place honors in team roping and a pair of Faith cowboys finished in the top three of their respective events at the South Dakota High School Finals Rodeo last week in Fort Pierre. Burress and Roghair put up a 10.

There will be plenty of rodeo action on tap in Faith and Dupree this weekend, with the 4-H kids giving it a go on Friday and the big kids vying for gold buckle glory on Saturday and Sunday. Things kick off Friday, June 25, with the Meade County 4-H Rodeo in Faith beginning at 9 a.m.

Grand River Ranch Rodeo Series gets underway

The first of three competitions in the Grand River Ranch Rodeo Series was held Friday, June 11, in McLaughlin, where the McCarthy twins of Kadoka rose to the top in the bronc riding competition and the Vigen Horse Co. crew edged Mobridge Livestock for early top honors in the team standings.

TL and Dupree qualify 10 for SD High School Finals Rodeo
