Young Panthers make clean sweep of LMC Junior Varsity track titles

Timber Lake’s boys and girls junior varsity track teams claimed top honors in their divisions at the Little Moreau Conference (LMC) track meet in Lemmon last Thursday, May 13. The Panther boys JV put up 177 points followed by Lemmon at 131 and Bison with 97.

Panther boys win LMC track championship

The Timber Lake Panthers posted nine top finishes to capture the Little Moreau Conference (LMC) boys track championship in Lemmon last Thursday, May 13.

Junior high track season is over, as the conference meet last week was a high-note ending for Timber Lake’s program. With lots of kids out for the sport, the Panthers won both boys and girls conference titles. Pictured are some highlights from some of Timber Lake’s home meets this season.

Timber Lake graduate Tucker Kraft will be on the world stage Sunday, May 16, when the top-ranked South Dakota State Jackrabbits will square off against No. 2 Sam Houston for the FCS National Football Championship in Frisco, TX. The contest, scheduled for 1 p.m.

Sophomore Shay Kraft sprinted her way to a pair of first place finishes and was second in another event to help Timber Lake claim sixth place overall in the team standings at the Eureka Lions Track Meet last Tuesday, May 4. Kraft won the 100 and 200 meter sprints with times of 13.4 seconds and 27.

McIntosh eighth grader Carter Hinsz won the shot put event and was second in the discus at the Mobridge Youth Organization (MYO) track meet on Monday, May 3.

Mustangs run over C-EB in football

The McLaughlin Mustangs improved to 1-1 on the season last Friday, May 7, by rolling over visiting Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 56-12 in All Nations Football Conference action. No scoring or statistics were available.
