When the Timber Lake Panthers went 3-7 in the first month of the 2020-21 boys basketball season, few people expected them to come from the back of the pack to end up playing in the SoDak 16 for a berth in the State Class B Tournament.

Four players hit double figures for the Faith Longhorns last Friday, March 5, as they rolled over the Dupree Tigers 75-52 in the Region 8B tournament semifinals to secure a berth in the SoDak 16 Tournament. Dupree’s season ends with the Tigers going 9-12 overall.

Timber Lake and Faith will represent Region 8B in the SoDak 16 tournament Thursday, March 4, which determines the field for the 2021 South Dakota State B Girls Basketball Tournament. Sixteen teams will play in eight games at six different locations across the state.
