SD high school rodeo season starts April 23-25

The South Dakota High School Rodeo Association has announced its 2021 practice rodeo schedule, kicking off the season April 23-25 with the New Underwood Rodeo in Rapid City. Several rodeos that were scratched from the schedule last season due to COVID-19 are slated to return this spring.

Stambach places fifth at State wrestling tourney

Dupree senior Hunter Stambach captured fifth place honors in the 182-pound class of the State Class A Wrestling Meet in Rapid City. Stambach, wrestling for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte-Dupree (C-EB-D), finished the season with a 26-6 overall record.

Boys Region 8B tourney underway

TL girls drop thriller to Newell to end regular season

Timber Lake didn’t win its girls basketball regular season finale against Newell on Friday, but in losing a one-point thriller the Lady Panthers put the field for the Region 8B Tournament on notice that they shouldn’t be overlooked.

Timber Lake girls win two straight, wrap up regular season this Friday

The Timber Lake Lady Panthers won two-of-three matchups in the last week, falling to Mobridge-Pollock before bumping off Potter County and North Central to improve to 11-7 overall on the season. The Lady Panthers will wrap up their regular season schedule on Friday, Feb.

Panther boys move to 9-9 as end of regular season nears

The Timber Lake Panthers lost two games and won one over the past week, moving their record to 9-9 as they head into the final days of the regular season. The Panthers will host the McIntosh Tigers on Friday, Feb. 19, and make up a game at Newell on Friday, Feb.
