Injury-plagued Panthers bounced out of playoffs

As the Timber Lake Panthers limped home after a disappointing loss 26-12 to Philip in the opening round of the state Class A football playoffs on Friday, nobody would have blamed them had they stopped and painted a big RED CROSS on the side of the team bus.

Cowboys beat Elks in 9AA football playoffs

Quarterback Cody Thompson continued his record-setting season on Friday, throwing for six touchdowns and running for two more as the Lemmon-McIntosh Cowboys steam rolled the Elkton-Lake Benton Elks 64-14 in the opening round of the state 9AA football playoffs.

Time for region VB

Playoff volleyball is right around the corner, as regular season matches drew to a close this week ahead of Region play next week. First round games will be played at the site of the top seed Nov. 2, with the tournament continuing Nov. 3 and 5.

Beyer makes top 10 finish at State XC

Timber Lake junior Ian Beyer capped a successful 2020 season at the State Class B Cross Country Meet at the Hart Ranch near Rapid City on Saturday, earning medalist honors with a ninth place overall finish in cold, snowy conditions that made the course slippery in some areas.

Regular volleyball season winding down

There's only a week left in the COVID-disrupted regular season for area volleyball teams as they continue to battle for higher seeds in the Region 8B Tournament, which is tentatively scheduled Nov. 2-3 & 5.

McIntosh falls to Flasher, Bison

The Mcintosh Lady Tigers dropped a pair of contests in recent volleyball action, falling to Flasher, ND on Oct. 6 and losing to Bison last Monday, Oct. 12. The Lady Tigers close out their regular season next week. They were at North Central on Tuesday and host McLaughlin on Monday, Oct.
