Cowboys roll over beat-up Panthers

What was expected to be an offensive shoot-out turned into a lopsided victory for the No. 2 ranked Lemmon-McIntosh Cowboys last Friday as they rolled over the Timber Lake Panthers 34-0 to remain unbeaten on the season.

The Harding County Ranchers put up 64 points in the first half of their meeting with the Dupree Tigers on Friday, claiming their third straight victory in a 64-0 romp that ended at halftime under the 50-point Mercy Rule.

Panther boys second at Battler XC Invitational

Led by the first place individual finish of junior Ian Beyer, the Timber Lake Panthers claimed second in the team standings at the Battler Cross Country Invitational in Gettysburg on Saturday. Potter County won the boys title, followed by Timber Lake, Ipswich, Faulkton and Highmore.

Panther spikers top Dupree, fall to Mobridge-Pollock

Timber Lake’s varsity volleyball team is 3-6 on the season after picking up a road win at Dupree on Sept. 17. The Panthers swept the Tigers 16-25, 12-25, 14-25 in the varsity contest last Thursday. Two days earlier, the Panthers hosted Mobridge-Pollock in a home loss.

The Timber Lake Panthers prepared all last week to meet Potter County in a Region 4 football matchup last Friday. But on the day of the game, Potter County cancelled the contest after a student tested positive for COVID-19 and the school district had begun contact tracing.
