Saddle bronc rider Shorty Garrett of Eagle Butte and tie-down roper Trey Young of Dupree continue to hold down first place in their respective events in the standings for the PRCA’s Badlands Circuit.

Mendoza runner-up in SD Senior Golf

An Eagle Butte golfer found himself in contention for the 70 & Over Division title of the South Dakota Golf Association’s Men’s Senior Championship on Sunday in Pierre. Louis Mendoza shot a 10-overpar 154 to capture runner-up honors in the tournament.

With a number of Native American schools either cancelling or postponing their fall sports seasons due to the coronavirus pandemic, school officials from the All Nations Conference voted last Thursday, Aug. 13, to move its football seasons to the spring.
