Local entries among the winners at 2025 Days of 1910 Rodeo

A handful of local competitors landed atop the leaderboard in their respective events at the 2025 Days of 1910 Rodeo held Saturday and Sunday, July 26-27, in Timber Lake.

West River competitors steal the show at Herreid Rodeo

Hometown cowboys win Hometown Days bronc and bull riding

It was only fitting that a pair of hometown cowboys claimed top honors at the Eagle Butte Hometown Days ranch bronc riding last Thursday, July 17, and bull riding on Friday, July 18.

Locals among leaders in SDRA standings at mid-point of season

Five local competitors currently sit atop the South Dakota Rodeo Association (SDRA) season standings in their respective events at the midway point of the 2025 season.

Here’s how some of the area cowboys and cowgirls did in rodeo competition in the past week: - Kaden Deal of Dupree and Easton Eisemann of Glenham tied for third place in saddle bronc riding at the Hermosa Battle on the Creek on Saturday, July 19. Both riders posted scores of 71 and earned $640 each.
Bear Creek bull rider Stran Smith has been turning in some strong performances on the county fair rodeo circuit so far this summer, finishing in the money at events in Ellendale, ND, and Fertile, MN, last seekend. Smith scored 64 points on a Bailey Pro Rodeo bull named Charlie Sheen to claim second place at the Dickey County Fair and posted a 77 point effort on NorEaster from Triple R Rodeo to finish third overall at the Polk County Fair. Trail City’s Sandquist captures Boss Cowman bareback crown

Teenager Mark Sandquist of Trail City was crowned bareback bronc riding champion at the 2025 Boss Cowman Rodeo held Thursday through Sunday, July 10-13 in Lemmon.
