Woodward wins SDRA barrel racing title

Dupree cowgirl Minda Woodward won the barrel racing title and Faith cowboys Drew and Jess Harper were crowned team roping year-end champions at the 2024 South Dakota Rodeo Association’s FInals Rodeo last weekend in Huron.Woodward also claimed third place overall in ladies breakaway.

Taken Alive edges Cudmore for first at C-EB Cross Country Invite

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte’s Jayden Taken Alive had a stronger kick down the home stretch to edge Dupree’s Tayshaun Cudmore by 14 seconds for top honors in the varsity boys race at the C-EB Invitational in Eagle Butte last Thursday, Oct.10.Taken Alive finished the 5,000 meter course in 17:35.

Tiger gridders grind out 36-6 victory over Lemmon-McIntosh

Dupree’s potent running game was too much for Lemmon-McIntosh last Friday, Oct. 11, as the Tigers cruised past the Cowboys 36-6 in Class 9A football action.The win lifts Dupree to 4-3 overall heading into the final game of the regular season at 4-4 Timber Lake on Friday, Oct. 18.
