Three Brave matmen medal at Lakota Nation Invite

Three wrestlers from the C-EBDupree-Tiospaye Topa wrestling co-op reached the finals during last week’s Lakota Nation Invitational in Rapid City, lifting the Braves to a sixth place overall finish in the 14-team field.

Sully Buttes HS dedicates BB court to Senftner

McLaughlin native, former Timber Lake coach, and longtime Sully Buttes coach Mark Senftner was recognized at the Chargers girls basketball home opener on Thursday, Dec. 21. The basketball court in the school gymnasium was dedicated in his honor.

Mustang wrestlers third at Lakota Nation Invitational

The McLaughlin-Timber Lake Mustangs had four wrestlers advance to the championship finals and posted a third place overall finish in the 14-team field at the Lakota Nation Invitational in Rapid City last Thursday, Dec. 14 - the thirdyear co-op’s best finish at the annual event to date.

Kosel sets barrels record in first-ever NFR appearance

Glenham resident Summer Kosel, appearing in her first-ever National Finals Rodeo last week, finished 10th overall in the barrels with an average of 152.66 in the 10 rounds of competition. Her earnings of $218,695 this season place her No. 7 in the world.

Hunkpapa Classic slated Dec. 28-29 at McLaughlin HS

Trail City resident Mark Sandquist captured second place honors at 144 pounds to lead the Mobridge-Pollock Tigers to a ninth place overall finish at the Faulkton Wrestling Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 9.

JH Lady Panthers finish runner-up in LMC tourney

The Timber Lake Jr. High Lady Panthers took one team to the Little Moreau Conference Junior High Basketball Tournament in Lemmon on Saturday, Dec. 2, earning runnerup honors in a loss to Harding County in the championship game.
