Sandquist, Glines win all-around at Dewey Co. 4-H Rodeo

Mark Sandquist of Trail City and Riley Glines of McIntosh won two events each at the Dewey County 4-H Rodeo in Timber Lake on Sunday, May 28, to claim Senior Boys All-Around and Junior Girls All-Around honors, respectively.

Timber Lake boys win fifth Region 8B title in six years; girls collect third straight The Timber Lake Panthers continued their dominance over West River boys track and field on Friday, May 19, capturing the school’s fifth Region 8B championship in six years at Doug Kraft Field.

Wrestlers hosting cornhole tourney

The Grand River Rattlers Wrestling Club and the McLaughlin-Timber Lake High School Wrestling Co-op will host a cornhole tournament fundraiser on Saturday, June 3, at the Grand River Casino west of Mobridge. Registration will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. with the tournament commencing at 11 a.m.

Wyatt Larson of McIntosh shot a lights-out 3-under par on the front nine and battled windy conditions on the back nine finish with a 3-over 75 and his third consecutive Region 6B boys golf championship at the Hart Ranch near Rapid City on Monday, May 22.

McLaughlin junior Renzo Bullhead edged Ty Valandra of Todd County to win the 200 meter championship at the Lakota National Invitational Track Meet last Thurday, May 11, in Mission, helping the Mustangs snag a share of second place overall.

Panther maroon and gray rules the day

Timber Lake varsity, Jr. High teams sweep LMC track championships Monday turned out to be a banner day for the Timber Lake track program as the Panthers swept the Little Moreau Conference Track Meet in Lemmon, capturing both the boys and girls varsity and Jr. High championships.
