Like all high school athletics this spring, the Timber Lake Panthers 2023 golf season has been a series of cancellations due to blustery or inclement weather, but that all changed last week.

Kosel continues adding to early-season earnings

Glenham barrel racer Summer Kosel has been on a successful run since mid-April, finishing in the money at the last three events she entered. Kosel started her most recent streak at San Angelo, TX, where she banked more than $6,500 in winnings.

Lady Panthers earn fourth at Northern Hills, boys are sixth

Shay Kraft won the 100 and 200 meter sprints and Timber Lake’s girls 800 relay team claimed a top finish at the Northern Hills Invitational at Lou Graslie Field in Belle Fourche last Monday, April 24, lifting the Lady Panthers to a fourth place finish in the 15-team field.

McLaughlin boys fifth at Big Dakota meet

McLaughlin got top 10 performances from several team members - including junior sprinter Renzo Bullhead, who won the 200 meter and finished fourth in the 100 - to place fifth overall in the boys standings at the Big Dakota Conference Track Meet held last Tuesday, April 18, at Crow Creek.
The Dupree High School Powerlifting Team recently held an exhibition fundraiser that included a meal and each member of the team completing three different lifts as they would in a competition. White Horse Chiefs won the second place trophy at the second annual Swiftbird basketball tournament held Saturday, March 31. Swiftbird won first place. Shown with their trophy are members of the White Horse team.
Mason Schrempp, a sophomore at Aberdeen High School, was named a 10th Grade All-American at the Adidas Wrestling Nationals held April 6-8 in Indpendence, MO. Schrempp placed third in the 145 pound division at the South Dakota State High School Tournament this season. An all-conference and all-state selection, he also earned his 100th career win. An enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, he is the son of Roy Veit and Ricki (Schrempp) Link and the grandson of Joe and Tammy Schrempp.

Line-ups set for Lakota All-Star BB games April 29 at the Monument

Rosters for the 2023 Lakota All Star Basketball Games were announced last week with several area players selected to the rosters for the boys and girls high school basketball games. This year's event will be held April 29 at the Monument in Rapid City.
