Larson Paleontology Unlimited coming to Museum, May 20

Neal Larson of Larson Paleontology Unlimited in Hill City will give a presentation on fossils at the Timber Lake Museum on Wednesday, May 20 at 7 p.m. MT. The program is free and open to the public. People are welcome to bring fossil specimens for a “show and tell” session.

Dewey County library happenings

The Dewey County Library is excited to present the 1,000 books before kindergarten initiative. Research has shown that children who are read to early and often are better prepared for school success by understanding the sounds letters make, develop a bigger vocabulary, and following a narrative.

Earns degree

Tina Louise Meier Escobar is one of 22,000 students to be awarded degrees from Arizona State University in Flagstaff, AZ on May 14. She is graduating with honors with a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration and Policy.

About 40 people attended the Diamond A Cattle Company program at the Timber Lake Museum on April 12, but many others were not able to be there.

Dunn going on DC honor flight

Trail City veteran James S. Dunn is going on the Honor Flight to Washington, DC on May 19. Dunn served two tours in the U.S. Army in Vietnam (one long and one short) in 1969 and 1970.
