Cookie/Pie Baking Contest open to all

Area bakers are asked to step on up and show off their baking talents by entering the Dewey County Cookie Contest and/or Pie Contest on Thursday, July 23.Participants are asked to enter their favorite cookies or pie between 9:00-9:45 at the Timber Lake Community Center. Judging will begin at 10:00.

Isabel Board hires IMG as on-call engineering firm

Isabel will soon have an official on-call engineer. At their July 6 meeting, the Isabel Town Board looked over a proposal from IMEG to be their on-call engineer before approving it.

Woman gets 30 years in prison for fire that killed two

A 27-year-old Eagle Butte woman who admitted to setting a fire last year that killed two people in Eagle Butte has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison.U.S. District Judge Eric C. Schulte sentenced Jimi Jo Collins on June 22 after her conviction for second-degree murder.

Corson County, Sheriff Alan DaleJune 810:29 p.m. received a report of a burglary alarm at a business in McIntosh. It was found to be a false alarm.June 1011:49 a.m. responded to a report of a reckless driver east of McLaughlin. The vehicle was ultimately stopped.
