State Museum reopens with three new exhibits

After three years of major renovation work, the South Dakota State Museum in Pierre officially reopened the first three rooms to the public on July 1.In 2022, the State Historical Society received an appropriation from the legislature to renovate the Cultural Heritage Center in Pierre.

The Cheyenne River Youth Project at Eagle Butte is inviting community members and visitors to explore the Winyan Toka Win (Leading Lady) Garden. Offered by appointment, the free guided tours are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

TL School’s summer reading program wrapped up June 24

The Timber Lake School Summer Reading Program, “Unearth A Story,” wrapped up June 24, with a total of 85 students enrolled in the program.

Natalie Lawrence of Timber Lake was named to Bismarck State College’s (BSC) President’s List with a 4.00 GPA. The Timber Lake Topic’s summer intern is being recognized for this academic achievement.“We know and appreciate that every student’s journey is unique.

A.J. Lindskov named to SDSU’s Dean’s List

Andrew (A.J.) Lindskov of Isabel is attending South Dakota State University’s College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences and has been named to the spring Dean’s List. To earn this distinction students must have completed a minimum of 12 credits and must have earned at least a 3.
