Woman gets 13 years for assaulting officer

U.S. District Judge Charles B. Kornmann has sentenced a McLaughlin woman convicted of assaulting, resisting and impeding a federal officer. The sentencing took place on June 8, 2026.

Changes set at Catholic churches

As of July 1 four Catholic churches within All Saints Parish will be affected by changes to the availability and/ or frequency of ministerial services.Two are to be closed completely: St. Joseph’s Church in Ridgeview and Immaculate Conception Church in Bridger.

Lemburg retires after 36 years at highway department

Cathy Lemburg started working at the Dewey County Highway Department in June of 1990, meaning she worked there for almost exactly 36 years before retiring.Before starting at the Highway Department, Lemburg worked at the Western Dakota Bank as an assistant cashier.

Summer reading program dates set for month of July

A star-spangled tractor proudly flying Old Glory greets travelers along U.S. Highway 212.This Spirit of ’76 is one of little more than 200 manufactured by CASE in 1976 to celebrate America’s bicentennial. Parade rancher Oren Lesmeister remembers the day his dad, Louie, purchased it.
