Sign up for Prairie Dog control program enrollment ends August 15

The South Dakota Departments of Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) and Agriculture and Natural Resources (DANR) want to remind South Dakota landowners to register for assistance with prairie dog encroachment. The deadline for enrollment is Thursday, Aug. 15.

Auctions raise money for 4-H and TL Daycare

At the live auction just before the Days of 1910 Talent Show on July 25, funds were raised for the Dewey County 4-H program and a new deck for the Timber Lake Community Daycare.Cookies from the cookie contest at the Dewey County Fair brought in $1270 for the 4-H program.

Simpson Sportsmanship Award winners share ‘Panther Tales’

The legacy of Lawrence (“Bucky”) Simpson, a Timber Lake High School athlete who died following a car crash on his graduation night in 1959, was the focus of a program at the Timber Lake Museum on July 27.

Paleo visitors

Paleontologists from the Black Hills Institute of Geological Research in Hill City stopped at the Timber Lake and Area Museum on July 18 to take a look at the fossil collection and other exhibits.

Gold Ticket Raffle winners
