of Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell spoke at the Timber Lake Museum on March 2. He tied together the various kinds of records, from Egyptian hieroglyphics to present day technology, that tell and preserve human history.

Topic to host community meeting on ambulance service March 25

As a community service, the Timber Lake Topic is hosting a public meeting for the Timber Lake-Isabel community to share information and ideas about the future of the local ambulance service. The public is invited to attend at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 25 at the Timber Lake Community Center.

Weather spotting class Mar. 20

A Weather Spotting Class put on by the National Weather Service and Dewey County Emergency Management will be held March 20 at the Badger Park Community Hall in Eagle Butte at 1 p.m. and the Timber Lake Community Center at 6 p.m.

Future teachers gather at Ed Rising Conference

Over 200 high school students from 27 chapters across South Dakota were at Northern State University for the sixth annual Educators Rising South Dakota State Conference on Feb. 28.

Timber Lake top spellers headed to NWAS Contest

The annual Northwest Area Schools Spelling Contest is scheduled to be held Wednesday, March 20 at the Faith School. Students from Bison, Dupree, Eagle Butte, Faith, Harding County, Lemmon, McIntosh, Timber Lake, McLaughlin and Tiospaye Topa schools plan to participate.
