New K-9 joins Corson County Sheriff’s Office

The Corson County Sheriff 's Office has purchased a new K-9 - Zigi - to succeed longtime K-9 Taz, who was put down in January after a brief bout with cancer. Taz served with the sheriff's office for 11 years and became one of most prolific drug dogs in the state.

Callie Tuschen knows what life is like as a family business owner. Tuschen, daughter of Don and Mary Hollenbeck of Trail City and co-owner of a business in Hartford, grew up on a cattle ranch. She went to school in Timber Lake and graduated from Oregon State University.
Dupree students chosen from the 7th-12th grade for recognition as the January DHS JH/HS Students of the Month are (l-r): Jamie Blackmoon-10th grade, Leland Brown Wolf Jr.-12th grade, Brandon Oakie-7th grade, and Curtis Thompson-7th grade. Students are nominated by the JH/HS staff and then chosen based on behavior, role model status, attendance, effort, and much more. Mr. Russell Budmayr presented the students with $20 gift cards to Lakota Thrifty Mart and called their parents/guardians with the great news.

Jim and Jackie Keller traveled to Gillette, WY to visit Russ, Jaime, Jackson, and Logan Wiese. They celebrated Jackson’s 10th birthday and watched him play basketball. On Saturday, Jared and Mason Hollenbeck and Kyrie Lemburg were in Onida to watch Mason play basketball.
Cast members of the Timber Lake High School One-Act Play brought home nine superior medals from the state competition for their individual and ensemble roles last weekend. Winners were (LR): Serenity Webb, Lola Hornick, Anna Kraft, Shawn Quinn, Averie Marshall, Kessa Bigger, Meredith Maciejewski, and not pictured - Mckenzi Vomacka and Natalie Lawrence.
