Historical Society awards scholarships

The Timber Lake & Area Historical Society has awarded two $3000 Community Scholarships from the Urban Scholarship Fund. Recipients are Zoe Olson of Timber Lake and Elsie DuBray of Stanford University in California. Olson is Deputy Director of Equalization for Dewey County.

Veterans activities at State Fair

In support of veterans, military personnel, and their families, the South Dakota State Fair offers numerous events throughout the week. The fair will host a “Salute to Veterans” program on the Northwestern Energy Freedom Stage at 10:30 a.m. CT on Thursday, August 31. Lt.
