Kosel breaks record, then loses record and title in Cheyenne

Glenham barrel racer Summer Kosel broke her own record for the fastest time at Cheyenne Frontier Days and was on track to win the championship, only to have Sue Smith of Blackfoot, ID, beat her time to set a new record and claim the 2023 championship.

New SDHSAA rules govern fan ejection, school fines

At its meeting last Tuesday, July 25, the South Dakota High School Activities Association (SDHSAA) board of directors approved a new rule governing fan ejections and set a $500 fine for schools that employ coaches who have not taken their required courses.

Saturday’s Days of 1910 Parade drew a large crowd to Main Street Timber Lake and a wide variety of parade entries. Top, nearby rain showers created a rainbow over Timber Lake on Thursday night during the talent contest in the big tent.

N.D. escapee apprehended in Corson Co.

A 39-year-old inmate who escaped from a minimum security correctional facility in Jamestown, ND on Tuesday, July 18, was captured last Friday, July 28, in Corson County and taken back into custody.

Standing Rock Tribal Council election race narrowed to 12
