Corson County Sheriff Alan Dale February 13 9:10 a.m. received a report of horses out on Highway 1806, south of the Wakpala school. 5:08 p.m. responded to a business in McLaughlin for a burglary alarm. It was found to be a false alarm. 8:44 p.m.

Mobridge Art Show April 15 and 16

Artists and photographers, exhibitors and vendors, teachers and students, old and new participants are invited to participate in the 47th Annual Mobridge Art Show. This year’s show will take place on Saturday, April 15 and Sunday, April 16 at the Scherr-Howe Event Center in Mobridge.
Two groups of volunteers from Dewey and Ziebach counties and the surrounding area have participated in training to become members of a newly-formed non-profit Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) to serve the Cheyenne River Reservation. The Cheyenne River Long-Term Recovery Team is dedicated to not only assisting with immediate situations but also with the long-term follow-up to disasters or emergencies. Courtesy Photo

The Cheyenne River Reservation now has nearly 40 new volunteers trained and ready to assist first responders during emergency situations and large-scale community events in and around Dewey and Ziebach counties.

SD High School Rodeo Assn. sets practice rodeo schedule

The South Dakota High School Rodeo Association has announced the dates of its 2023 practice rodeos, regional qualifiers and State Finals Rodeo. The regular season kicks off April 21-23 with the New Underwood Rodeo in Rapid City and wraps up May 29 with the Clark Rodeo.

Nine teams or groups from Timber Lake High School and seven from Mobridge-Pollock High School have been recognized by the South Dakota High School Activities Association (SDHSAA) with the Academic Achievement Team Award for their academic excellence during the winter quarter of the school year.
