March 4, 2022 Jerome Moses Goodhouse, Jr., 30, McLaughlin, was indicted on January 12, 2022 by a federal grand jury for aggravated sexual abuse of a child and witness tampering. He appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on March 3, 2022, and pled not guilty.

NRCS seeks proposals by May 13

The USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is seeking proposals for Conservation Collaboration Cooperative Agreements (CCCA) to help address South Dakota’s most pressing natural resource concerns.

Dewey County 4-H has a new program to introduce kindergarten, first grade and second grade kids to 4-H. Activities include hands-on projects such as Colton Ridl and Brock Locken (ABOVE) are working on. The next meetings are set for April 4 and May 9 at 4 p.m.

Deadline is April 1 for entries for 46th Annual Mobridge Art Show

The deadline for entries in the 46th Annual Art Show to be held in Mobridge April 23-24 is April 1. Entry forms are available at the AH Brown Library, Sitting Bull College, Art on the Corner and on-line by going to Mobridge Chamber of Commerce (click on calendar of events).

Timber Lake Kindergartners learned the Pledge of Allegiance and last week Becky Booth visited their classrooms to hear the students recite the pledge and to explain to them its importance and significance.

McIntosh to host annual NWAS Spelling Contest

The annual Northwest Area Schools Spelling Contest is scheduled to be held Wednesday, March 23 at the McIntosh School. Students from Bison, Dupree, Eagle Butte, Faith, Harding County, Lemmon, McIntosh, Smee/Wakpala, Timber Lake and Tiospaye Topa schools plan to participate.

FFA Week observed at Dupree

The Dupree FFA chapter was exceptionally busy during FFA Week as they held various events at Dupree School that informed people about FFA and celebrated their service of others.
