Supreme Court rejects appeal from Dakota Access Pipeline

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday, Feb. 21, rejected an appeal by Energy Transfer LP's Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL), allowing a ruling that required a new federal environmental study to stand and leaving the project at risk of being shut down completely.

February 2, 2022 Toni Carole Cochran, 26, of Eagle Butte was indicted by a federal grand jury on January 11, 2022 for assault resulting in serious bodily injury. She appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on February 1, 2022, and pled not guilty.

IHS Rapid City Service Unit services transferred to Oyate Health Center

The Indian Health Service (IHS) announced last week that all health care services provided at the IHS Rapid City Service Unit will transfer to the tribally-managed Oyate Health Center Clinic operated by the Great Plains Tribal Leaders Health Board. The change went into effect on Saturday, Feb. 26.
