TLHS teams, fine arts groups awarded for academic success

Five athletic teams and fine arts groups from Timber Lake High School are being recognized for their academic achievements during the 2021-22 fall school semester by the South Dakota High School Activities Association (SDHSAA). Eight groups from Mobridge-Pollock also earned the honor.

Monday, March 7: Breakfast: French toast, bacon, fruit, juice, and milk. Lunch: Unbreaded chicken patty, whole grain bun, broccoli, fruit, and milk. Tuesday, March 8: Breakfast: Cereal, beef stick, fruit, juice, and milk. Lunch: Sloppy Joe, corn, fruit, and milk.

Horizon encourages individuals to see their primary care provider during COVID and flu season

During this time of the year, people are at risk for both COVID-19 and the seasonal flu. While we’ve all heard about the toll these past two years have taken on our health systems, it doesn’t mean you should skip your regular primary care appointments.

The weather in Trail City and surrounding area is finally starting to warm up after being very cold for the past few weeks. Bill and Laurie Bickel were visited by their grandkids, Chloe, Curtis, and Coy Loutt. They will be there for part of the week.

Dupree FFA at Stock Show

The Dupree FFA Chapter joined 15 other FFA chapters from South Dakota, Nebraska, and Wyoming to attend the Black Hills Stock Show FFA in Rapid City on January 31.

Applications open for Century Farms

The South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources (DANR) and the South Dakota Farm Bureau (SDFB) are proud to recognize longstanding South Dakota family farms and ranches through the Century Farm and Ranch program.

Deadline to apply for tax relief on owner-occupied homes is Mar. 15

Homeowners have until March 15 to apply for property tax relief through the owner-occupied program. Any South Dakotan who owned and occupied a home on November 1, 2021 is eligible for this classification and its property tax reduction.
