Isabel Dakotan February 5, 1932 The Milwaukee has been having its troubles with snow on the Isabel branch line. A week ago Thursday the train stayed all night in a cut near Firesteel. With the aid of shovelers the train got through to Isabel Friday.

What did you like about our 100th day of school activities? Aliviah-I liked when we bright things to sort onto paper. We put ten in each box. We had ten boxes. That makes 100. Chloe-I like it when we found the kisses. There were 100. Isaac-I liked being there. I liked the 100 hats.

New mystery books donated at Dewey County Library

The library has purchased an outdoor book deposit box that makes it possible to return books during closed hours. The purchase was made possible by donations and fund raising.

South Dakota Farm Bureau offers scholarship opportunities

South Dakota Farm Bureau (SDFB) is offering scholarships to high school seniors and college students whose parents or guardians are current members of South Dakota Farm Bureau, and have been for at least two years.

Holiday

Next Monday, February 21, is a state and national holiday, Presidents Day. All government offices, banks and post offices will be closed. Locally, most businesses will be open. Timber Lake School will be closed on Presidents Day and also this Friday, February 18.

Petitions due February 25

Petitions for positions on the Timber Lake and Isabel city boards are due Friday, February 25 at 5 p.m. As of Tuesday, February 15, no petitions had been filed. There are two board vacancies in Isabel (both for 3-year terms) and four in Timber Lake (two for 3-year terms and two for 2-year terms).
