Nicole and Ava Price are staying over at Bill and Lynn Hahne’s. They are there visiting and will be there for the rest of the week. Bill and Lynn went to the Stock Show in Rapid City last weekend. They met with Justin and Carla McPherson while they were there.

Ducheneaux on SDSU dean’s list

Morgan Ducheneaux, a 2018 graduate of Timber Lake High School, has been named to the Fall 2021 semester Dean’s List at South Dakota State University. She is a senior in the College of Nursing. Morgan is the daughter of Deb and Heidi Ducheneaux of rural Timber Lake.

Correction

In the report about the Timber Lake third graders receiving dictionaries, the Isabel American Legion Auxiliary Unit 120 was not mentioned. They were joint sponsors, with the Timber Lake Auxiliary Unit 83.

Sewer project

Meeting on Monday, Feb. 7, the Timber Lake City Board took a step toward improving and expanding the city’s sewer system. After hearing a report from engineer Kent Baumeister and recommendations from Paul Mehlhaff of the Central South Dakota Enhancement District, the board voted to apply for $3.

Candidates

Rod Enright of Timber Lake has filed a petition for the District 2 seat on the Dewey County Commission. Enright, a Democrat, is the incumbent. Sandra Koenig has taken out a petition for a two-year at-large term on the Timber Lake City Board. She is an incumbent.

Covid test kits

The South Dakota Department of Health is shipping free at-home Covid-19 tests to locations in every county in the state to make them readily available to the public.

Timber Lake’s Julie Marshall named Middle School Principal of the Year

Julie Marshall, Middle School/High School Principal at Timber Lake, has been named the South Dakota Middle School Principal of the Year. The announcement was made last week by the South Dakota Association of Secondary School Principals. Marshall is no stranger to the honor.
