Families set to receive food assistance for school children due to COVID-19

The South Dakota Department of Social Services (DSS) in collaboration with the Department of Education (DOE) will be providing assistance with food costs to families who lost access to free or reducedprice school meals during the 2020- 2021 school year due to COVID-19 related school closures.

Class of 1980 reunion set for Saturday

The Timber Lake High School Class of 1980 will have a 40-year reunion, meeting at the Timber Lake Community Center at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 24.

South Dakota again receives highest ratings under IDEA

At the recent Board of Education Standards meeting, it was announced that South Dakota has received the highest rating possible under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, or IDEA, for both Parts B and C for the most recent reporting year of federal fiscal year 2019.

Vigen Horse Co. stays on top in Grand River Ranch Rodeo series

After two rounds of the 2021 Grand River Ranch Rodeo Series, the Vigen Horse Co. team holds a slight lead over Mobridge Livestock and War Dogz in total points. The second of three ranch rodeos was held Saturday, July 17, in Mobridge.
