Timber Lake Volunteer Fire Dept., Grady Kraft, Chief May 1: Responded with 2 Type 6 Engines and 1 Tender to grass fire in the road ditch south of Firesteel. About 1/4 acre burned and the cause was undetermined. Also responding was Isabel VFD and Cheyenne River BIA.

Timber Lake School Board views improvement projects

The Timber Lake School Board ended its meeting last Wednesday, June 16, by walking through the school to get a first-hand look at the building improvements underway this summer.

Dewey County property for sale

Dewey County is soliciting sealed bids for four properties that the county has acquired through tax deed proceedings. Bids must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 8 and will be opened Friday, July 9 at 11 a.m. at the courthouse.

Early morning blaze claims home on Main St. in Isabel

No injuries were sustained but a home on the south end of Main Street in Isabel was mostly destroyed by an early morning fire on Sunday, June 13. Isabel Fire Chief Dan Assman said the blaze was reported at the Donald Hinton residence at 3:32 a.m.

Police pursue suspect across several counties

More than a dozen law enforcement agencies, including the Dewey and Corson county sheriffs’ offices, were involved in a vehicle pursuit that started in Campbell County and eventually ended near Conde, in Spink County, on Saturday, June 12.
