Inaugural Miss Isabel pageant was a success with 22 contestants

The inaugural Miss Isabel Pageant was held in the Isabel Pavilion on July 30. A total of 22 girls competed in three divisions. Little Miss was ages 3-6, Junior Miss was 7-10, and Teen Miss was 11-15.The royal court consists of the title winners and runner-ups of each division.

Rhoden wins in Dewey County

In South Dakota’s Republican gubernatorial primary runoff election on Tuesday, Dewey County voters chose the incumbent, Larry Rhoden, over Toby Doeden 205-51. Of 840 registered Republicans, 256 cast ballots. Rhoden will now face Democrat Dan Ahlers in the November 3 general election.
