A benefit fund has been established at Dacotah Bank in Lemmon for the Chuck and Hanna Schmidt family of rural Keldron after all five family members were injured in an automobile accident on Oct. 26.Chuck Schmidt is a three-time NFR qualifier and Hanna competes in breakaway roping.

Eagle Butte man sentenced on firearms charge

A 27-year-old Eagle Butte man was sentenced Oct. 8 in U.S.District Court by Judge Eric C. Schulte to serve two years in federal prison for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
