Thorstenson earns All-Around honors during Faith HS Rodeo

Treg Thorstenson of Dupree High School was named boys All-Around winner at the Faith High School rodeo on Sunday, May 16, after winning one event and placing third in another. Faith won the team championship and Landry Haugen of Sturgis was named girls All-Around winner.

The Isabel News May 16, 1941 Extensive improvements have been made at the Milwaukee stock yards in Isabel. A large crew of men have been repairing and adding new pens and conveniences to the yards. It is expected this fall large shipments of stock will be made here over the Milwaukee road.

Area students breathed a sigh of relief as Timber Lake School let out on Friday for summer. On Saturday afternoon, Lyle Hahne attended Lauren Grage’s graduation in Selby. Carla McPherson and family, Nicole Price and family all came home to attend Lauren Grage’s graduation and reception in Selby.

Twenty Dupree seniors receive high school diplomas

Dupree High School celebrated the Class of 2021 graduating and moving out ‘into the world” on May 15. The traditional Lakota honoring ceremony, hosted by the JOM committee, was held at 11:30 , where some received feathers or plumes and all of the seniors were presented with beautiful star quilts.

Homegrown mainstay, Mrs. Rita Long, retires from teaching

Last week, the final bell of the school year rang for Timber Lake School. Time for teachers to pack it in for the summer until the next term. This year’s teacher retirement news at TL saw the epitome of a homegrown teacher say goodbye to full-time teaching.

Dupree Blood Drive 25

A blood drive will be held in Dupree on Tuesday, May 25 at the Catholic Church Hall. It begins at 2:00 p.m. with the last appointments available at 5:30 p.m. All CDC guidelines are followed. There is still a critical shortage of blood in our area. There is no substitute for blood.
