Jesse Ridl, Adele Enright, Dee Moran and Jay Jones were some of the West River artists who won ribbons at the Mobridge Art Show held April 24 and 25. Jay Jones of Trail City won three ribbons in the drawing category: blue for “Alan and Yogi,” yellow for “Keaton” and honorable mention for “Buddies.

A joint Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Indian Health Service (IHS) mobile unit (ABOVE) was set up at the Lakota Cultural Center in Eagle Butte on April 22, providing free COVID-19 vaccinations to those age 16 and older. The unit will return May 13-14.

Briefly describe your career and education path on the way to becoming a Certified Physician Assistant and Respiratory Therapist. I did my undergrad at the University of Mary with a Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy. I graduated in 2014 from that program.
Allie Oxner, MSEd LPC QMHP, works with Three Rivers Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Center, headquartered in Lemmon. A 2007 graduate of Sturgis High School, she holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Phoenix and a master’s degree in school and mental health counseling from Northern State University in Aberdeen. She has been with Three Rivers for four years and earned her LPC license in June 2020. She lives in Mobridge.

Health systems, DOH urge COVID vaccination

On April 20, in a united front, Avera Health, Monument Health and Sanford Health systems joined with the South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) to encourage residents to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Currently, vaccinations in South Dakota are open to anyone age 16 or older.
