The first time COVID-19 was mentioned in the TOPIC last year was the issue dated March 5, 2020. Stray Thoughts columnist Mark Peacock wrote a piece which espoused the advice that folks eschew “armchair quarterbacks” for virus advice and take the word of practicing medical professionals.

Timber Lake students win top honors at High Plains Science & Engineering Fair

Two projects from Timber Lake High School tied for first place and will both represent the High Plains Regional Science and Engineering Fair in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair. Both are virtual events due to the pandemic.

McIntosh class completes DARE

On March 25, the McIntosh School held the 7th Grade D.A.R.E. graduation. The ten-week program, taught by Corson County Sheriff Alan Dale, teaches kids the dangers of drugs and alcohol abuse and the importance of making safe and responsible decisions.
