Virtual School or Regular School by Hadley Thompson I started my school year out in August. I learned through virtual school until February 22. There are several differences between virtual and regular school. During virtual school, which I started on August 18. I would start the day at 8:45.

The Highway 1806 bridge, known as the “singing bridge” west of Mobridge and north of Highway 12 over the Grand River, has reopened to vehicular traffic, but with restrictions. The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) closed the bridge Feb.

Influenza rare this season

Do you know anyone who had influenza this past year? Chances are you do not. Sure, plenty of people had the “stomach flu” with vomiting and diarrhea, otherwise known as gastroenteritis. Some people had colds and others had COVID-19. But cases of influenza this season have been exceptionally low.

Matthew and Adriana Aberle from Aberdeen spent the day with Chuck and Marsha Aberle. Jim and Jackie Keller went to Emma Keller’s basketball game on Thursday. Tyler Rath and Jess and Janell Clem spent the week at Jim and Jackie’s house while they worked on remodeling the church.

FFA members celebrate National FFA Week at TLHS

Timber Lake High School’s new FFA chapter celebrated National FFA Week Feb. 20-27. Dress-up days were held in the high school, and a coloring contest in the elementary.

Pfaff files for Isabel board

Daryl Pfaff, the incumbent, filed the only petition for the one seat open on the Isabel Town Board. The filing deadline was February 26. At Timber Lake, no petitions were filed. The seat held by Josh Lemburg and one other, which has been vacant for some time, were up for election this year.
