My daughters and I climbed Hinhan Kaga, or Black Elk Peak, a few years back, when the pine beetles were killing many of the trees. We saw a lot of little holes in the bark of dead and dying trees. Some holes had sap running down, some were dry. Sometimes there was a little bug caught in the sap.

Linderman on UM dean’s list

Olivia Linderman, a 2020 graduate of Timber Lake High School, has earned a place on the fall semester Dean’s List at the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. Olivia is the daughter of Jan and Deb Linderman of Timber Lake.

SDHSAA approves changes to basketball post-season guidelines

The South Dakota High School Activities Association (SDHSAA) on Monday approved an adjustment to the basketball postseason guidelines. If a region has three or fewer teams, then it will join another region to form a super region that will play in four spots in the SoDak 16.
