Going...gone

The former Holy Cross School building was demolished this week. A crew with large and small equipment, along with some volunteers razed the building on Monday, (LEFT), hauled away the debris and dug out the basement (ABOVE).

Dupree blood drive January 19

A blood drive will be held in Dupree on Tuesday, January 19 at the Catholic Church hall. The first appointments are at 2:30 p.m. and the last at 5:30 p.m. The Covid pandemic has created a crucial need for blood. All CDC guidelines are followed and it is safe to make a donation.

Nominations open for Ziebach Co. Historian of the Year

The Ziebach County Historical Society is seeking nominations for the 2020 Historian of the Year. Letters of nomination can be submitted to the Ziebach County Historical Society Board by mail at PO Box 452, Dupree, SD 57623, e-mailed to thezchs@hotmail.com or given to one of the board members.

Car winners

Holy Cross Church at Timber Lake, St. Mary’s at Isabel and Holy Rosary at Trail City raffled off two donated vehicles to raise funds for the churches. The winner of the 2005 Lincoln LS was Jason Fischer of Eagle Butte and the winner of the 1999 Suburban was Dan Assman of Isabel.

Holiday

Due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 18, government offices, banks and post offices will be closed. Timber Lake School will be closed but most local businesses will be open.

City board meets Monday

The Timber Lake City Board met Monday, January 11. The board reviewed reports from Clark Engineering on the water and wastewater studies they recently completed, approved wages for 2021, approved a list of surplus property to be sold, and decided to continue advertising for a custodian.

Agriculture + Tourism
