K12 Connect sign-up extended to December 16

The SD Dept. of Education has extended the deadline for sign-up for the K12 Connect program to Dec. 16. The program provides free internet service to eligible K-12 students in their homes for the 2020-21 school year so that students can participate in distance learning as needed.

Thanks to a very generous donation from Four Bands Community Fund, the Timber Lake Area Development Board was able to buy gift cards to local businesses to give away as prizes for the Community Christmas Extravaganza held Dec. 4.

Weber publishes novel she wrote 35 years ago

Johny Weber of Timber Lake, retired teacher, active horsewoman, grandmother, and now author, has released her first novel, Mountains in your Mind, which she wrote more than 30 years ago. “I wrote this book in the 80’s,” Weber said.

Dec. 11 deadline for producers to apply for CFAP2

The USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) reminds farmers and ranchers to apply for the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program 2 (CFAP 2) by Dec. 11. This program provides direct relief to producers facing market disruptions and associated costs because of COVID-19.
