The funeral for Delores D. Miller 83, of Eagle Butte was Saturday, November 18, 2017 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Eagle Butte. Interment was at Blackfoot Ascension Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Delores passed away Friday, November 10, 2017 at the IHS Hospital in Eagle Butte. Delores Dalema Ducheneaux “Lena” was born on July 26, 1934 to Albert John and Louisa (Halsey) Ducheneaux. She grew up at the Old Cheyenne Agency. Delores’ brothers Napoleon Charles, Isadore, and Eugene Ducheneaux were always there to help Delores no matter what the situation. Delores played guitar and loved to sing as a little girl and had a beautiful voice. In her later teen years, Delores worked for Frank and Babe Claymore babysitting their children. She was employed as a waitress at the Eagle Butte Truck Stop. Delores began employment for the Bureau of Indian Affairs at C-EB School as a temporary employee in 1970 and in 1972 became a permanent Civil Service worker for the U.S. Government. Delores married Kenneth Bowker and they had one daughter, Marti Bowker. Delores then married Kenneth Spotted Bear and to that union Kenneth (Johanna) Spotted Bear, Albert (Spudy) Spotted Bear, Joe (Connie) Spotted Bear, and Raylene LeBeau were born. Delores met and married Benjamin Miller and they had three children - Merrie Miller-White Bull (Kevin), Delores Geni Aguilar (Jamie), and Terrence Wade Miller. Delores met Wesley Arpan and had two children Cherrish (Cher) Miller and Garrish Chance Miller. Delores retired in 2005 and lived a quiet and peaceful life at her home along with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Delores liked to travel, to work on word finds and to sing. She was outspoken and taught her children to be independent and outspoken as well. Delores had 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Delores was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers Napoleon Charles, Isadore, and Eugene Ducheneaux; two sons, Kenneth Spotted Bear, and Terrence Wade Miller; one grandson, Bradley Phillip LeBeau; and one granddaughter, Jamie Marie.
