Timber Lake JV teams split season openers

Timber Lake’s junior varsity boys’ and girls’ basketball teams tipped off their new seasons by splitting a doubleheader with Lemmon last Friday, Dec. 10. The Panther boys claimed a win while the young Lady Panthers suffered a four point loss.

Boys JV

Timber Lake 46 Lemmon 38

Kyle Bollinger drained three 3-pointers in the first half to post the young Panthers a 26-15 lead at the intermission and his teammates did the rest to earn the win.

Timber Lake connected on 4-of-8 attempts from the free throw line while the young Cowboys shot a dismal 8-or-23 from the stripe.

Bollinger and Gracen Hansen, both sophomores, and freshman Cole Ducheneaux finished with 11 points each for Timber Lake. Tristan Dupris added six points, Aiden Rough Surface and Landon Lemburg contributed two points each and Gavin Farlee scored one point.

Jacob Sonsalla led the Cowboys with 11 points while Sawyer Thompson had six.

Girls JV

Lemmon 32 Timber Lake 28

Timber Lake used a balanced scoring attack to build an 18-10 halftime advantage, but Lemmon outscored the Lady Panthers 22-10 in the second half to claim a come-from-behind victory.

Kessa Bigger led Timber Lake with six points and Joie LeBeau and Jordan Jones added five points each. Natalie Lawrence, Abby Linderman and Kendyl Locken finished with four points apiece.

Boys C-Team

Timber Lake led 14-10 at halftime but Lemmon held the Panthers scoreless in the third stanza to even the score 14-14. Timber Lake went on a 10-2 run down the stretch to ice the victory.

Treyton DuPreez and Dante Schumacher paced the Panthers with eight and six points, respectively. Landon Lemburg and Eddie Keller added four points each and Gabe Keller scored two points.
