The McLaughlin High School varsity Esports team qualified for the Smite PlayVS Central Region playoffs as the fifth seed. The Mustangs will square off against Maumelle Charter School from Maumelle, AR, in the first round of the playoffs.
McLaughlin finished the regular season with a 10-4 record. Team members are Jestice High Cat, Hendrik Condn, MJ Morrison, LeZat Mancera, Kristen Chee, Kyle White Owl and K’Den First. The Mustangs are coached by Steven Buchy, who is assisted by Carlene Elk Looks Back.
The Central Region consists of South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Nebraska, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana. Regional champions are invited to compete for the PlayVS Cup.
