Panthers blank Dupree for homecoming win

Coach Ryan Gimbel took advantage of his team's backfield depth and speed last Friday as six different players who have run or thrown the ball this season were involved in five Timber Lake touchdowns, lifting the Panthers to a 38-0 homecoming win over the Dupree Tigers.

The South Dakota Rodeo Association’s regular season ended last weekend with the Last Chance Rodeo’s in Oelrichs. The top 12 finishers in each event are qualified to compete in the SDRA Finals Rodeo set Oct. 7-9 in Sioux Falls.

TL spikers open season with three victories

After starting the 2022 campaign Aug. 25 with a win on the road at Harding County, the Timber Lake Lady Panther volleyball team improved to 3-0 on the season with home court victories last week over Cheyenne-Eagle Butte and Bison. Timber Lake hosts Herreid-Selby on Thursday, Sept.

Dupree runners compete at Spearfish XC Invite

The Dupree Tigers took part in the Spearfish Cross Country Invitational on Friday, Sept. 2, at Jorgenson Park in Spearfish, with sixth grader Rowdy Schrempp posting the best finish among team members. Schrempp placed fifth in the Grade 6 boys race with a time of 14:11.27.

Eighth grader Charlie Hornick held off a late push by Wakpala’s Martin Plenty Chief to win the JV boys 3,000 meter race and lift Timber Lake to a second place overall finish at the Marlene Gustafson/Ryan Day Memorial Cross Country Meet held Friday, Sept. 2, at the North Shore Golf Course near Faith.
